[Event Information] Participating in the 2025 "Girls Meet STEM" Project - Empowering Japanese junior and senior high school students with the power to envision the future

JWIBA (Japanese Women's Initiative in the Bay Area) is pleased to announce its participation in the "Girls Meet STEM" project sponsored by the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation.

"Girls Meet STEM" is a project that aims to expand the possibilities for career choices in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, providing junior and senior high school students who will lead the next generation with an opportunity to meet diverse role models and envision their own future.

◾️Background to participation

JWIBA began its activities in 2022 with the aim of creating a society where women in the San Francisco Bay Area and Japanese society can support each other and build their own careers and lives. It was officially established as a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) in California, USA in 2024.

While tackling issues such as the gender gap in Japan, life stages, and career challenges associated with being stationed overseas, I hope to pass on the knowledge and experience I gained in Silicon Valley to the next generation.

Through this participation, we will provide a hands-on program on "design thinking" for junior and senior high school students interested in STEM fields, creating an opportunity to develop the ability to carve out their own future.
